Consistent with our focus on the Asian financial markets, our team is split between Tokyo and Singapore. Our core area of expertise is FPGAs, but across the team we have many years’ worth of experience in finance and financial markets.

Code must be robust

Making FPGAs operate at very low latencies is complex, and hard to get right. At the same time, we appreciate that mistakes made in interacting with a financial exchange can be very costly, either in opportunity cost or in actual losses.

Correctness at no cost to latency

In terms of technology, our focus is therefore on correctness. We use tools which emphasize strong typing and formal reasoning to catch bugs at the earliest possible stage. Similarly, we use best practices taken from software development, including advanced testing methods and reproducible build tools, to make our products as robust as possible. This is done without any compromises being made to either latency or throughput.
